  3. This is the fifth release of the upright smiley font.

  5. • Version History:
  6. 1.0                Initial release.  Lots of bugs.  Uppercase only, no numbers.
  7. 2.0                Fixed the bugs in the printing and scaling area.  Added lowercase and numbers
  8. 2.0.1        Exclusive release for PHT.  Added some symbols and some other stuff.
  9. 2.1                Changed lower case to small smileys.  A few more symbols
  10. 3.0                Reworked the upper case font to resemble actual letters, changed some of
  11.                                 the lower case faces

  14. You can get the latest version of this font at the Info-Mac, Umich, Macdownload, and various popular  Macintosh archive sites.  You can also obtain previous versions of this font from Pacific HiTech's InfoMac VIII & InfoMac IX CD-ROM.

  19. • Now where would anyone get an idea for a font like this?
  20. This is a font that I started working on over the summer of 1995.  I got the idea when I saw someone on a BBS make a face that looked something like this:

  24. I said to myself, gee, it would be a lot easier if their was a font that was like this.  I looked around, and saw that their was no such font.  So I started on one.  And here it is now.

  27. I am James Arnott, the creator of this font.  I am in my Junior year at Union High School, located the thriving metropolis of Union, Oregon  (approx. pop. 2300).
